When Nebuchadnezzar broke the walls [Jerusalem -
in the first Temple] King Zidkiyahu and his men
fled through a hidden cave, which went from
Yerushalayim till Yericho.
Hashem made some Roman soldiers chase a deer that ran to
the opening of the cave, and thus they found them,
captured them and brought them to Nebuchadnezzar, (see the
6th of Cheshvan to know what happened to the
King).
During the 70 year exile of Bavel, today was the fourth
public fast day , but after the breaking of the wall of
the second Temple on the 17th the fast day was
switched to that day.

Today started the 390 days that the Prophet Yechezkeil was
lying on his left side, then started
[18th of Tammuz the following year] 40 days lying on his
right side, altogether he was in bed 430 days and
got up on the 28th of Av [3334] and then he was ready
to receive the next prophesy [on the 5th of Ellul], about
5 years before the destruction of the Temple (see
Yechezkeil chapters 8-10).

Bnei Yisroel made the mistake in the counting of 40 days,
and when they saw that Moshe Rabeinu didn't come down
the mountain, they asked Chur (the son of Kaleb & Miriyam,
Moshe's sister] to made an Idol so they can worshipped
it, when he didn't agree, they killed him.
Then they told Aharon to do it, and he threw in a fire
their gold and silver along came Micha and threw in a
plate (that Moshe wrote on it "Arise Bull, Arise Bull" to
bring up Yosefs coffin in the nile river)
and out came the Golden Calf.

Noach sends [the first time] the dove from the Ark, and
doesn't find a rest place. Some say - that was a sign that
Bnei Yisroel [who are compared to the dove] won't find
rest on this day.
